Investment Banking Operations IT (IB Ops IT) provides technology solutions to its clients to allow process for the ever increasing volumes of transactions across the range of products traded within the investment banking business.

We are responsible for support and development of over 500 applications. Our primary clients are Investment Banking Operations (IBO) and Global Transaction Banking (GTB). Other significant clients include PCAM, Global Markets, CFO, and Corporate Finance.

IB Ops IT is a global organization that includes approximately 1,200 FTE’s and vendor resources spanning across 14 countries and 4 continents

Within IB Ops IT, the Derivatives Processing IT team is the application development team responsible for DB’s key Derivatives transaction processing platforms globally, including:

• Development and implementation of a strategic Derivatives processing roadmap and service-oriented architecture, covering:
  • Development and implementation of new services (such as a new global document-generation services)
  • Roll out and upgrades of existing platforms and services (such as the main Derivatives settlements platform)
• Delivery a major, multi-year stability and capacity programme across the main platforms
• Delivery of strategic solutions to facilitate the industry-wide aim of increasing electronic matching, implementing market initiatives, reducing documentation errors, speeding up trade execution and settlement.

Position Description

The project manager role is within the Derivatives processing IT development team with a particular focus on Derivatives settlements.  It will include the following responsibilities:

• Full end-to-end responsibility and accountability for Settlements IT deliverables that will cover various parts of the Derivatives processing domain and multiple applications fro RTB and CTB projects:
  • Manage the project process and developers during development phase to ensure that requirements are fully understood and that the detailed design and implementation will satisfy the requirements.
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance group to ensure that business requirements are fully understood and correctly reflected in test conditions for various test phases.  Provide support to Quality Assurance group and users during testing phases.
  • Take part in project governance – plans, risks, issues, dependencies, reporting, tracking and other communications.
  • Represent DB Derivatives Processing IT on the various external project working groups
  • Develop and contribute to a wider understanding of Derivatives processing domain within DB and how it supports the strategic Derivatives processing architecture
  • Examine requests for enhancement from the user community to make sure that the requirement is necessary, and that all alternative approaches have been considered. For areas that require enhancement create detailed documentation to describe the core functional requirements.
  • Represent Derivatives Processing IT locally in Asia across for the Settlements domains by building strong client relationships with the various user communities in Derivatives Ops and  TMG

Job Requirements

Education / Qualifications Req:

University degree, likely in a numerical or technical subject

Project management training, preferably Prince 2 or PMI

Background/ Work Experience Required:

Full project lifecycle experience on several projects (>2 man years in effort)

Several years experience of working in investment banking IT

Derivatives product and processing knowledge desirable

Language Required:

English
