CRM Asst Vice President ( Sr Associate) Job Description

Designation - Assistant Vice President (AVP) -

Description

The purpose of Global Risk Management Operations is to establish and maintain a common approach to controls and operational workflows across the risk management infrastructure in support of Investment Bank. Credit Risk Management provides Operational support for Risk Management which includes the following functions: Mis-booked, Rules based Funds processing, Credit Risk Support and Reporting.

In CRM we handle activities relating to funds processing which include customer, family and portfolio reviews as well as creating, amending and canceling lines. We also generate various credit reports on periodic basis and investigate and report mis-booked trades sourced from credit system

 

A  Sr Associate ( AVP)  in the Credit Risk Management operations is expected to deliver on the specific tasks and requirements:-

The Sr manager will be responsible for deliveries of the respective team, managing timeliness of deliveries and relationship with internal customers (middle office) and global ops partners. 

 

 Description of Responsibilities

  • People and resource management (e.g. people development, pipeline/skills monitoring, training programs).
  • Maintain effective and standard operational processes
  • Improving and maintaining a controlled environment (e.g. necessary controls activities along process flow implemented, appropriate control tools in place, team members fully understand risks and related controls) 
  • Manage relationship with internal clients, anticipate needs, take feedback, run conference calls.
  • Help build business cases for the changes that would improve business processes in India and see them through to completion
  • Take responsibility for the quality of work submitted and ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
  • Identify/ manage risk and control breakdowns.
  • Anticipate and understand issues, and escalate appropriately for timely resolution.
  • Manage the performance management cycle- Objective setting, development and career planning, performance appraisal and reward & recognition.
  • Conduct regular team meetings (onshore and offshore staff), 1:1s, and coaching sessions.
  • Ensure adherence to SLA’s, Internal metrics & firm wide policies.
  • Improve the departmental competency rating via use of staff training and the skills matrix.
  • Develop and maintain written procedures and User Acceptance Test Scripts. 
  • Manage projects and conduct User Acceptance Testing for enhancements to current systems or migration to new system

  • Ability to maintain and improve a strong controlled environment (e.g. necessary controls activities along process flow implemented, appropriate control tools in place, team members fully understand risks and related controls) 
  • Ability to manage relationship with internal clients. Past experience in this area with emphasis on service level deliveries, expectations setting, new products etc. is a must.
  • Act as a point of reference for team members and internal clients.
  • Ability to monitor and actively priorities workloads.
  • Strong Partnership/Relationship Building Skills ( Exposure to having worked with onshore stakeholders across NA,EMEA & Asia would be preferred )
  • Ability to interpret and analyze system generated reports and other data, co-relate and analyze impact  to overall processes and process deliveries and feed results into the decision making process

Preferred Skills & Experience

 

  • Graduate,Post Graduate with a minimum of 9 years experience in a financial services operations with atleast of 2 years of People Management experience as a Manager in Investment Banking back office operations ( Credit Risk Management experience would be desirable)
  • Excellent  Interpersonal skills. Should be able to communicate at all levels.
  • Behavioral skills, Leadership, Problem solving and time management,
  • Strong planning, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Have a track record of formulating innovative ideas and gaining buy-in from senior management in addition to a track record of execution/delivery/process improvement/leadership in a challenging environment
  • Good understanding of Client entity types specifically Hedge funds, Fund Administrators, Corporates & Financial Institutions
  • Well rounded understanding and experience of managing Operations in a Financial sector of Banking Back office including Risks & Controls., Productivity & Quality, MIS & Reporting and Project Management.
  • Excellent business writing and verbal English communication skills
  • Proficient in MS office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook).
  • Strong control and quality management skills; accuracy and attention to detail is vital.
  • Assertive and self-confident, comfortable when interacting with senior management.
  • Excellent coaching skills.
  • Detail and Deadline orientation.
  • Well developed negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills

Shift : EMEA shift, with flexibility to extend hours/ do occasional NA hours
