- Exchange 2010 lab build and Firmwide upgrade
- Enterprise Vault version 8 upgrade including BlackBerry client
- Enhanced platform and performance monitoring
- Enhance automation of system build
- Enhancements to DR failover procedures
As an Exchange Messaging Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the firm in architecture and design of the Exchange 2007 software to ensure a robust, high performance email archive system. In this role, you will:
- Design and build out Exchange 2010 lab environment
- Design Exchange 2010 design specifications and upgrade process
- Develop tools and remediation to proactively monitor Exchange Event logs for errors.
- Continuous improvements to architecture updates for diagrams, configuration guide(s), and supporting documentation for the Exchange
program when necessary.
- Provide guidance in establishing standards which support the Exchange environment
- Identify and mitigating risk of any outages which result from people, process or technology errors
- Identifying/evaluate performance bottlenecks and tuning process optimization tasks which are required for an Exchange environment
- Develop capacity management methods, process, & procedures
- Work with support team to develop and implement operations processes
- Assist in issue troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of Exchange solutions currently installed within the infrastructure.
- Work with Vendor for software escalation issues
Qualifications:
· 2+ years of hands-on infrastructure design, build, and/or support of Microsoft Exchange (2007 highly desired)
- (Desired) 3+ Years of email archive experience. Symantec Enterprise Vault preferred.
- Thorough understanding of the following email protocols (SMTP/MAPI/WebDav/Exchange Web Services/
- Thorough understanding of email data protection techniques (encryption, scanning, policy management)
- Expertise with Outlook client software (2007 highly desired)
- Experience across multiple infrastructure disciplines including networking and storage is a significant plus.
- Proven success delivering enterprise technologies to end user communities in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Global infrastructure planning and delivery experience a definite plus.
- Bachelor degree in MIS or equivalent discipline and/or relevant experience in combination with industry certifications are required
Required Skills:
- Expert with Microsoft Exchange 2003 and/or 2007 (2007 preferred)
- Technically proficient to expert in Symantec Enterprise Vault software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work closely with demanding internal customer base, gain their trust, make commitments, and deliver on them.
- Strong planning and execution skills
- Ability to learn new and different technologies to a working depth quickly
- Proficient with SharePoint, OCS, Windows Server and Workstation, Visio, Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint
