| Position Description | This position is for a senior development / delivery manager who will be responsible for the ownership and direction of Morgan Stanley Matrix in Asia. Matrix is one of the largest Flex/RIA project (as per adobe’s own admission) ever undertaken in the world. Matrix is a single broker dealer platform and a key piece of Morgan Stanley's overall business strategy. The platform brings together pricing, execution, analytics, research and post trade downstream services in one accessible client offering. All this has to be achieved under strict performance SLAs. The immediate responsibility will be for the architectural direction of key content including: - Research - Analytics - Content creation and distribution such as Video blogs / commentaries, messaging and communities etc. The job demands from the person the expertise of designing scalable and extensible architecture which can serve the firm for the long time. In addition, the role will include strategic responsibilities and the candidate will join the CBA practice area technical management team. The candidate would have to work closely with similar architects across the globe to set the technical charter, not only for the Asia team but the global team in general. Key responsibilities include: - Delivery of Several Key Projects or initiatives which will contribute to the building of the global platform - Providing overall direction, guidance and definition of the application (platform) architecture. - Building a solid offshore presence of the development team which can work on these key initiatives. Asia responsibilities include: - Practice area management in setting, defining and executing the technical charter of the group. - Setting up a team of world class developers which can manage and execute global scale initiatives for the practice area out of Asia. - Improving the technical competency of the overall team in general. - Establishing and forging key relationships with business and vendors alike. Job Requirements: The person in this role - Should have 10 -15 years of total experience on designing enterprise-scale n-tier applications. - Should have acted as a lead architect on client-facing projects, ensuring alignment with organization and industry standards. - Should have the ability to plan, scope, architect, design and engineer complex, low-latency client-facing applications. - Should have demonstrable experience in leading the development team on complex technology challenges. - will be expected to keep abreast with the emerging standards and technologies in the industry. He/she will also be able to handle competing demands on time and demonstrate strong communication skills as well as sound judgment. | |||||||

| The candidate must possess a strong technology background with excellent hands-on expert level knowledge of Java and other java based technologies. • Atleast 7 years or above of relevant Java development experience • Experience in designing and developing low-latency applications • Strong expertise in Core Java (Primary Skill) • Experience in Web technologies like Spring / Hibernate / Struts is Preferred. • Good knowledge of Database with strong fundamentals in database designing. • Ability to coordinate with multiple groups, both internal and external to the firm, including offshore development and QA teams, internal infrastructure groups and support teams. • Strong development management skills with ability to understand technical design and translate the same into workable solution. • Strong written and oral communication skills. Should have the ability to express their design ideas and thoughts. • Strong process orientation with in-depth understanding of SDLC. |
