As the Global Messaging Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading a team of high-performance infrastructure technologists to deliver a world-class messaging platform including Exchange & SMTP services.  In this role, you will:

• Build and lead a team dedicated to high-quality infrastructure engineers in support of critical service delivery and projects. Provide clear direction, priorities, goals, performance feedback, mentoring and career paths for each direct report within the team, and feedback to front-line managers of other team members working on these projects.
• Develop, own, and continuously improve the service management processes.
• Develop requirements, technical specifications, project budgets, quality controls, and implementation plans to consistently deliver top quality infrastructure in compressed delivery timeframes.
• Work closely with supporting project team members within Data Center Operations, Global Networking, and Distributed Technology Services to prepare the infrastructure for application installation.
• Ensure project work is performed in compliance with corporate risk and security policies.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on infrastructure design, build, and/or support of Microsoft Exchange (2007 highly desired)
• (Highly Desired) 3+ Years of email archive experience.
• Thorough understanding of the following email protocols (SMTP/MAPI/WebDav/Exchange Web Services/POP3/IMAP)
• Thorough understanding of email data protection techniques (encryption, scanning, policy management)
• Expertise with Outlook client software (2007 highly desired)
• Experience across multiple infrastructure disciplines including networking and storage is a significant plus.
• Proven success delivering enterprise technologies to end user communities in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Global infrastructure planning and delivery experience a definite plus.
• Bachelor degree in MIS or equivalent discipline and/or relevant experience in combination with industry certifications are required

Required Skills: 

• Expert with Microsoft Exchange 2003 and/or 2007 (2007 preferred)
• Technically proficient to expert in Symantec Enterprise Vault software
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work closely with demanding internal customer base, gain their trust, make commitments, and deliver on them.
• Strong planning and execution skills
• Ability to learn new and different technologies to a working depth quickly
• Proficient with SharePoint, OCS, Windows Server and Workstation, Visio, Excel, Word, Outlook, & PowerPoint
• Systems and network management
• Creative problem solving
• The ability to follow-through and make sure issues don't get dropped
