Role Description :
Discrete activities carried out by the Provisioning Analyst include:
monitoring the service request queue for pieces of work assigned to him/her
· accepting the requests
· checking that all the required information is present
· obtaining missing information from requester
· escalating any difficulties to Provisioning Co-ordinator
· raising a change record for the change if the requestor has not raised one already
· attending team's change meeting to advise of change
· following high risk/high impact change management guidelines where applicable, including the production of key change documentation
· monitoring for accuracy and amend if necessary key field of the service request record
· liaising with other GTI teams in preparation for the implementation of the service request
· preparing the implementation scripts or reviewing implementation scripts provided by other members of the team
· making sure own scripts are peer reviewed
· making sure change records are approved prior to implementation
· obtaining necessary access to systems
· implementing service request
· closing service request record

The GTI Messaging team provides build and operational support services for MQ Series and WBI-MB across the Windows, iSeries, UNIX and ZSeries platforms for multiple lines of business giving the successful candidate an opportunity to broaden not only their technical skills but also knowledge of the businesses that combine to make up.
Over the next year the team will be implementing MQ Series Version 6 and Websphere Message Broker version 6 giving you the opportunity to develop knowledge with the latest cutting edge versions of this software.
Good personal organisation - the role requires some tracking and reporting and ability to manage a number of different requests simultaneously. Also regular reporting is a requirement so ability to organise around dates. A structured approach is essential.
Communication Skills - the role requires interfacing with customers (mostly in writing, sometimes by phone), other members of the team (by phone and email) and the Provisioning Co-ordinator (by phone and email)
Technical - Basic mandatory skills are at least two of the following platforms:
- Unix (Solaris and AIX)
- Windows server
- zOS
- iSeries
Also MQ Series administration skills are mandatory, evidenced by at least two year's of experience and IBMcertification (994-IBMWebSphere MQ6.0, System Adminsitrator or 294- IBMWebSphere MQ5.3, System Adminsitrator) Further platforms are highly desirable, as is experience with IBMmessaging brokers (MQSI, WMQI, WBIMB). This can be evidenced by at least two year's of experience and IBMcertification (one of the certificates above plus 298-IBMWebSphere Business Integration Message Broker V5, System Administrator, or equivalent certificate for V6).
