1. In this role, you will:  

• Design SMTP and Anti-SPAM network infrastructure and solutions including the expansion of the existing network as required.
• Meet with the firm's lines of business to discuss SMTP based messaging solutions to meet their business requirements.
• Engineer complex SMTP mail routing topologies interfacing with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and third party Unix and Windows SMTP mail hosts.
• Support the SMTP and Groupware/Email operations teams in the resolution of escalated mail routing incidents.
• Represent the SMTP Engineering team at change management meetings providing guidance, feedback, and recommendations for CTS Groupware change control documents under review.
• Create and submit ECMS change control documentation for SMTP Engineering sponsored implementations.
• Present justification, testing, planning and implementation steps in your ECMS change control documentation in a peer review forum. Respond to questions and concerns from peers and change control coordinators regarding your planned implementation.
• Provide engineering and support for the IronMail and Sentrion MailStream Manager based Personal Identity Information (PII) scanning and blocking infrastructure.
• Create installation instruction documents to be used by Data Center Operations (DCO) staff for SMTP hardware installation and configuration.
• Meet weekly with Risk Security Management (RSM) to create and review Data Loss Prevention (DLP) processes to protect the firm's confidential data in the mail stream.
• Design rules to meet specific mail routing and email security requirements that intercept, re-route, copy and block email in transit.
• Plan and lead the installation of SMTP servers, MTA's, and appliances.
• Utilize corporate processes and tools to provide requirements for corporate DNS, Network and Firewall activities supporting SMTP implementation efforts.
• Create complex implementation plans using Microsoft Project supporting efforts as complex as merger integrations.
• Create and support corporate email network infrastructure documentation.
• Manage vendor relationships, evaluate vendor products and participate in contract negotiation and yearly maintenance renewals.
• Develop business cases including cost analysis and justification supporting hardware, software, and service acquisitions.
• Meet with Finance and Sourcing departments during the equipment acquisition process to provide technical support for the purchasing process
• Utilize Epurchase requisition system to submit purchase orders for new software, equipment and licenses
• Support Retail Bank IronMail bulk email infrastructure utilized for marketing and customer statement delivery. 

• Build email capture, block and forward rules on IronMail and SendMail gateways supporting Risk and Investigations.
• Continuously evaluate the SMTP infrastructure performance as well as options to improve Anti-SPAM effectiveness and message delivery.
• Manage server access and security. Partner with Information Risk Management to comply with firm wide security policies.
• Create scripted reports and run queries based on ad hoc requests from the lines of business regarding email delivery and message capture.

Pre Requisites:

• Expert-level knowledge of IronMail, IronMail CMC, SendMail MTA, Sentrion and MailStream Manager.
• Expert knowledge of  RFC822 SMTP protocol, MIME and X-Header construction, LDAP, and Sendmail, required.
• Ability to implement and support TLS, security certificate management, and DKIM.
• Expert-level operating system knowledge on the following application platforms (Windows 2003,2008, Solaris and Redhat) required.
• Strong, demonstrated knowledge of Open Source messaging log parsing, monitoring, reporting, and data manipulation tools required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mail and SPAM reputational ID technologies as well as SPF, SenderID and DKIM required.
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP concepts, DNS, MX Disk layouts, Replication, Failover, and Backup Technologies with respect to Mail routing performance required.
• Familiarity with secure messaging products such as Voltage, PGP, and Tumbleweed.
• Knowledge of other mail products such as Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Active Directory desirable.
• Unix shell command script and Perl scripting skills including regular expressions.
• Proficient using Visio to create network infrastructure diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of server hardware, including IBM, Dell, and HP enterprise servers and blade centers required.
• General knowledge of Mainframe, Network, Midrange and LAN/Desktop technologies and their interaction in a complex production environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills, and team skills.
• Self motivated; ability to manage multiple priorities, the ability to lead a projects and initiatives.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. MCSE, CLP, and related certifications are a plus
